MISSION

At Coast to Coast Sustainables, our mission is to provide you with eco-friendly, sustainable products that are made with quality and care which can also be washed and reused. By reducing the amount of throwaways in our daily life we make a conscious effort to take better care of this lovely planet we call home.

OUR STORY

It was like love at first craft. One from the Midwest and the other from the East Coast, we were brought to the West Coast by our now husbands, both born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. Back in 2002, bonded by our names (Stephanie and Stephanie!) our creative adventures bloomed, beginning what would become a lifelong friendship.

We became the best of friends, doing what we loved most - using our hands to create, diving deep into projects like soap making, jam canning, bath salting, eye pillowing, knitting, sewing, and “sew” on. With lots of dinner parties and dancing in between!

The years went by, weddings were had, kids were born, pets came and went and came again, apartments turned into houses. One Stephanie even moved away but eventually returned, unable to resist the beauty and love for the Pacific Northwest.

Fast forward to 2020, we were ready to turn our love for recycling and eco-friendly living into a business, creating and sharing products that we ourselves are so passionate about.

Life, however, took an unexpected turn as the world began to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. The projects we were excited to produce (and still very much are) were replaced with mask making, donating hundreds to front-line workers, as well as friends and families in need of protection. With piles of material on hand, (much of it donated by loved ones from coast to coast), we began making use of every inch possible to create comfortable, fun, face masks for adults, teens, and children.

Our product line now provides items to help create a more sustainable home and life. We could not be more proud than to take part in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all.

ECO-FRIENDLY PACKAGING

At Coast to Coast we are committed to protecting the planet as much as humanly possible, reducing the need for single-use throwaways and supporting companies that create high quality, “RE” materials.

If you aren’t familiar with the 4 R’s, when implemented daily, individually and in business, they can make a big difference in the environment.

REduce, REuse, REcycle, REpurpose.

When we focus on these REsolutions, we can feel good about our choices and know we are supporting a healthy environment, in our homes and out in the world.

While we continue to grow as a company we will do our best to research and provide eco-friendly packaging. Currently one of our Sustainable Solutions includes using Kraft mailers from EcoEnclose that are:

  • Made from 100% recycled, renewable source material
  • Plastic free
  • Curbside recyclable
  • Naturally biodegradable and compostable.

Here is what EcoEnclose has to say on their website:

“Recycled packaging requires much less resources and energy than virgin packaging, and gives new life to materials that would otherwise be wasting away in the landfill. Just as exciting, by making recycled packaging a norm, we are strengthening the overall market for recycling, which will help motivate more and more companies to invest in the technology and logistics that can make recycling and recycled products commonplace long-term.

100% of our offerings are earth-friendly -- you can shop with confidence as we don’t make nor sell a product unless we feel it meets our stringent and comprehensively researched sustainable packaging criteria. Driven by our desire to continually craft new earth-sound alternative solutions, we have become an industry leader and trustworthy resource for other eco-conscientious businesses.”

Yay! We LOVE this and are thrilled to have the options they provide for eco-friendly shipping materials.

As Coast to Coast Sustainables grows, we will continue to explore innovative ideas for all aspects of production and all the support we have received so far!

With warmth and gratitude,

Stephanie and Stephanie
